Outsourcing code of ethics releasedPosted by randy on: 2005-10-28 14:15:15 Outsourcing code of ethics released The International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) has released a code of ethics and a set of business-practice standards that are designed to help companies improve their processes for awarding and managing outsourcing contracts. The standards apply to IT deals as well as other forms of href="http://www.offshoreoutsourcingworld.com">outsourcing. One of the people involved in the effort was Cynthia Kearney, vice president of global pharmaceutical R&D sourcing and supplier management at Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Research & Development LLC in Raritan, N.J. Kearney said the guidelines, which were issued Sept. 26, will give the parties in an outsourcing agreement a common business framework. The standards are general but weigh heavily in favor of disclosure, candor and the use of objective metrics that are agreed on by both sides. For instance, the IAOP is asking users and vendors "to accurately represent the extent of executive support for an outsourcing relationship." Mike Corbett, executive director of the IAOP, said the group hopes the standards will help outsourcing relationships succeed, partly by making management practices more consistent from company to company.
